Yes, or at least it’s a condition of federal funds that school districts are unlikely to give up. All public schools in Washington, D.C. and Maryland that want to keep federal education funds must allow military recruiters to come into school and talk to students in the same way that they allow other employers, colleges, or universities to meet with and recruit students. [1] [1] Md. Code, Education § 7-111 (military must have access if other persons discussing postgraduate school and work options are allowed access); No Child Left Behind Act, 20 U.S.C. § 7908(a)(3) (secondary school access for military recruiters is condition of federal education funding); also 10 U.S.C. § 503(c)(1)(A)(i) (same). |
